Grand Canyon

Located in the Northwest corner of Arizona, the Grand Canyon is more than 17 miles wide, 277 miles long, and one mile deep. This unique biosphere, visible from the International Space Station, contains exposed geologic strata dating back nearly 70 million years. Diverse plant and wildlife represent five of the seven life zones, from the sandy beaches and riparian vegetation where the Colorado River chisels the sandstone smooth, to the pine and juniper forests that flourish above the desert scrub.

Native Americans have long been residents of the area. Supai Village is situated on the Havasupai Indian Reservation at the base of the Grand Canyon, and ancestral Pueblo ruins still exist today. Moss covered rocks, lush tree canopies, and Havasupai falls await at the bottom, for a desert landscape that is unlike any other you have seen in the US.

Grand Canyon South Rim

By far the most popular section in the park, the South Rim contains the most significant number of trailheads, horseback riding tours, and the historic Grand Canyon Village. One of the best jumping off points for a Grand Canyon experience, here you can buy authentic American Indian crafts, visit museums, and experience the best scenic overlooks in the park.
